Herein does primarily confifi the Amiablenefs and Beauty of the Lord Jefus... whereby he is the chief among ten Thoufands and altogether lovely even in that he is the holy One of God, Aai 3. 14. and God's holy Child, A&s 4. 27. and he that is Holy, and he that is True, Rev. 3. 7. All the fpiritual Beauty of his human Nature, confifling in his Meek- nefs, Lowlinefs, Patience, Heavenlinefs, Love tnGod, Love tolt-len, Condefcention to the Mean and Vile, and Compailion to the Mifem table, &c. all is fum'd up in his Holinefs. And the Beauty of his divine Nature, of which the Beauty of his humane Nature is the Image and Refleaiion, does alfo primarily cnnfìft in his Holinefs. Herein primarily confifts the Glory of the Gofpel, that it is a holy Gofpel, and fo bright an Emanation of the holy Beauty of God and Jefus Chrifi Herein confifis the fpiritual Beauty of it's Dodtrines, that they are holy Doctrines, or Dodtrines according to Godlinefs. And herein does confifi the fpiritual Beauty of the Way of Salvation by Jefus Chrift, that it fo holy a Way. And herein chiefly confifts the Glory of Heaven, that it is the holy City, the holy ;ferufalem, the Habitation of God's Holinefs, and fo of his Glory ; Ifai. 63. is. All the Beauties of the new ;ferufalem, as it is defcribed in the two laft Chapters of Revelation, are but various Reprefentations of this': See Chap. 21. 2, Io, II, 18, 21, 27. Chap. 22. I, 3. And therefore it is primarily on Account of this Kind of Excel- lency, that the Saints do love all thefe Things. Thus they love the Word of God, becaufe it is very pure. 'Tis on this Account they love the Saints ; and on this Account chiefly it is, that Heaven is lovely to them, and thefe holy Tabernacles of God amiable in their L f Eyes
