Imper',etion ofknowledge. It doth not yet foundly and clearly undettland what is lawfull and what is ure, and what is by Chriflian liberty indifferent. Paul fàith, f know and am it'''''''' 4' perfwaded by the L ordJeff*, that there is nothing unclean of 14. a felt : but tobim that efleemetb any thing to bee uncleanc, to him it its uncleane. He fpeakethof things that are indifferent : The Apottle had knowledge : but there VG ere others who did not know this ; O J may noteat this meat ; 1 may not p! y at Bowles or ufe any other recreation : Jíhosldlimy ifI fhould, &c. This is one weaknefTe in this kind of conicience, weak- neffe ofknowledge. 2. The feeond imperfe Lion is to be grieved where it needeth notbee grieved - : As when it teeth other doe that which it felt through rmiflake doth judge to be evil, it is apt tobe grieved and troubled to fee .t ; If thy brother be grieved with thy meat, Korn. 24. now walkeff thou not charitably. It may be thou thinkeft it rs' lawfull to eat tech meat ; but he thinkethotherwife, and fo is grieved to fee thee eat. This is another imperfè&ion in this conícience,to be grieved and offended without juft caufe. 3. A third imperfèciion is in Judgement : It is apt to judge and condetnne another mans liberty I Cor. i o. 29. Why is my liberty judged of another: mansconfeienee ? He fpeaketh of a weake contcicncc. It is apt to be judging and condemning my liberty faith be ; but whyfo ? This is a fault i,nd an iniperfeeit- on indeed ; O fuch an one film -th, he doeth fo and fo : yet it may be the thing is net unlawful! but a weak confCi-ence is at fo to judge it_ and to condemtme him that doeth it. Let not him that eateth defilife him that eatethnot : And let not him that eatethnet fudge him that eateth Rorn.i4. ;. 4. A fourth iiriperfection is this : Aweak confeience is apt to be milled.
