Thus you have feen how the true and falfe peace ofconfcience differ. But here cometh a queflion to be anfwered,and it is this; Have all Gods children this peace of confcience ? I dare fay force ofyou look for this queftion, and long to have it anfwer- ed. I anfwer therefore, No ; they have it not always. But let me tell you ; They might have it alwayes, r. It is po(lible they thould have it alwayes: Their finnes of igno. rance and infirmitie do notbreak the peaceoftheir confciences: cannot; for if theycould, then no man (hould have true peace ofconfcience at any time. Nothingbut willing and witting (ins, finnes againft confcience, can break the peace of conscience : and as it is poflible for the children of God to live without there, fo it is pofiible for them alwayes to have peace ; yea, they may have daily more andmore peace. 2. As it is poflible for the childrenof God alwayes to have peace, fo they are com- manded to keep their peacealwayes ; and it is their own fault ifat any time they lofe it ; e4cquaint thy felfe with God, and be at peace, faith Eliphas. So, Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, unto whichye are called. We are not onely commanded tohave peace in our hearts, but alto that it may rule there, that no corruptionperk over it to hinder it ; we are called to this, peace, and commanded to have it; and therefore,as it is a fin in
