S 3. a . The confcience of man knowes this to be true , for bee knows he fnneswillingly , and he knowes he would not doe ocher- wile, hee daily feeleth Gods Spirit haling him to good, and telling him he ought to live thus and thus, and yet he is loath and will not, he the other way, and rather would do as he does, then as he knows God would have him : what is this but contempt ? and indeed this is the great fin of this Land, the contempt of the Gofpel, people count it not a'pre- cious, but a tedious thing.
