Lafily, As the Obje& of Faith is good, fo is it that Good the Soul Rands moll in Need of, and that is Life and Salvation,which Life is in Chrift He bath with him given us all .Things. Rom. viii. 38. I fay, It is the adequate., for- mal and material Obje& of Faith : For the Promifes in the Gofpel are the formal Rea- fon of Faith, the general Propofitions in the Gofpel relating to Chrift's Power, Offi- ces and Eud for which he came to the`Wórld Thefe are the Reafons upon which his Faith is founded That whichhe believes is his own . Salvation, holden forth conditionally and indefinitely before Faith, but abfolute- ly and particularly ro Faith, which is the Condition it fell, and makes that which was indefinite and conditional, particular and ab- folute : For ask a Believer,what he believes ?
