Many like Phaltrel with Ali- chal going to David, come to Chrift part- ing with the Law; they come weeping not for that they have been fo long without Chriïf, but because they muff part with the Law : 2 Sam. iii. 15, 16; And hence,love not Chrift though they fee a Neceflity of him, Could they have gotten their Wills, they had much rather been faxed by the Law,than by Chrift, at leaft in Part ; what they do is of Con, And Efrain r : therefore not acceptable : As ymany call away Sin not becaufe they hate it, but becaufe of the Prejudice it does them : As the Merchant in a Storm cafts his Goods in the Sea to lighten the Ship, and there- by to fave Life.
