The carnal Knowledge,which znany have of Chrift and his Ways, never makes them prize Chrift, fo as to give all Things for him, but they hide, as it were their Faces from him : Now they cannot but cleave to him. This I call likewife Gofpel- Illumination, becaufe of' afi Illumination which is by the Law, and pro- ceeds from the Spirit of God likewife, and which doth not difcover Man's Remedy fo much, as it cloth Man's Sin, and Mifery for Sin; and hence, the Spirit is laid to convince of Sin.
