The principal Phyfical Ait of Faith is Affent : Which Aft in its general Nature confidered, even that which juftifies, is no ways dif}inguifhed from the Faith of Devils and Reprobates : Yet am I far from thinking, that the Graces of Saints and Hy- pocrites differ but in Degrees, or that they are one in Nature ; the general Notion of Motion is common to a circular Motion, and a diametral Motion ; Aifent likewife, as a Genus, is predicable both of the Faith of Saints and Hypocrites, as Animality is com- mon both to a Man and a Horfe ; a Man is a living Creature, and a Honk is a living Creature ; but a Man is not fuch a living Creature as a Horfe is.
