They are put orre for another, whether in a man's corr-upt ellate; when they erre in their Under!landings, they are faid to erre in their heart' ; for if their Under!landings erre, their Hearts will certainly do fo. Saith our Saviour Chri£1:, Matt.6. t2. Where the Treaft~re is,therewi!! the heart be al[o. Mark the reafon, The light of the body is the e;·e. How are thefe joyned together? Plainly thus; look what the eye of the Under!landing of a man fetteth up to be a man's good, his Treafure, that the Heart, the Affecti– ons will follow, As we judge of things, fo we are affected, and fo the whole body, that is, the Will and Affections, (for he compareth the Under!landing to the Eye, and he compareth the Will and AffectiOns to the Body, which is as the Heart, and Affections as the Members.) Look which way the Eye goeth (faith he) the Body Will go os that directs: Look what the Under!landing pitcheth upon to be a man's Treafure, rhere the heart w1ll be.
