And as in Chrill's raifing to his Glory, to ibew forth the greatnefs ofthis Power therein, there was: I. TheTermintu a quo, the !rate from whence, 'J?..aifed from the dead. 2. TheTerminru ad quem, the !rate where· to he was raifcd, that Glory defcribed, v. 21, 22, &c. So anfwerably in us, and ·our Salvation, to !hew forth the ·Riches of God's Grace, (which was the princi– pal Attribute in our Salvation to be illullrated,) he fets, r. TheTermin"' a quo, the fiate from which, a fiate of Death and Wrath, in and for Sin, v. r, 2, 3· And, 2. After magnifying the Riches of Love and Mercy of the Raifer of us 'out of this efiate, he comes here to fet out the Terminru ad quem, the fiate to which we are hy degrees to be advanced, in thefe words : Which is the Third General Head, of this firll part of this Chapter, ·tbewing, how all this is and !hall be perfected, according to a correfpondence and proportion with that ·he wrought in Chri!r. Now this.perfetl:ing ofour Salvation, or the whole Work ·of (jod·upon us, in a co.refpondency to that in Chrift, he fums up in two Ueads, which c6?tain in the~ three parts, or degreesthereo£ Firll ; To two Heads: · As; : :J . 1.
