O ff udgement. 355 when our anger firft beginneth with ourfelúes, andthat there isno finne which we would willingly reaor fauourour felues in, then if webeangrie with others for thefame finnes, this is of God ; if we cartthe firft none at ourfelues, and if the finne be invs, weftriue a- gaint it; if it benot, we feareit may be, and thereforeftudie to preventit. Againe, when our anger dothlet vsfromdoingany duties tothemwhich we are angrie with ; then is an- ger cork be milliked: but whenweare readie to fhewe all duties to them,as toprayfor them, and all other duties of Joue, then let vs haue herea teftimonie ofgood anger : butif it make vsto hauea troubled rninde,though it be fora good caufe,it is tobefi fpected ; for the workes ofGods fpiritein vs,doe not hinderone another, but rather doefurther ; and if wewerecolde before, and yetnow fhall bequickened to prayerand other good exerci- fes, thisif wee finde, it is anoteofgoodanger. Though therewere many other frnnes, yet if they had viedthefe aright, they fhould eithernot have falleninto thefe fins, or chilewould havegiuen them repentance, whereby they fhould haue preuented his judgements. CHAP. 43. Of judgementandfolly,andofiudging,reprouing,andpraifing.
