Goodman himfelfwas not executed; tho' the Kingpromifed to leave him .to the Law, and he himfelf petitioned, like Jonah the Prophet, to be thrown over-board, to allay the Tempeft between the King and his Subjeffs. Such was his Majefty's At- tachment to this People, to the apparent Hazard of the Proteftant Religion, and the Peace of his Kingdoms ; and to thefacr f cinq allgood Correfpondence between himflf and this Parliament. I am forry to fay, that fuch is this Gentleman's Attachment to the GoodOld Caufe, that he will flick at nothing; to blaft the Reputation of the belt of Kings, and the belt of Chrians.
