( no More will true Religion be mixed with that which 3 5 5 igi corrupt; the Arke and Dagon cannot fluid together ; Reli- gion is not like lead, you cannot bow it,but like glalle, breake ityou may;bow it you cannot, mingle it, andyou deftrcy it, it is no more Religion but fuperflition, as filmmixt with droffe is no more accounted filver but dreflè, though it bath fomefilver in it : Befides, it is treafon in a ccminon- wealth, for any man to mingle the Lawes of a forraine Prince with the Lawes ofhis owne Prince, no King will endure it ; and what is this but fpirituall treafon againff Chrift, tomingle humane devices, and forraine traditions with Chrifts pre- cepts, the Lord will never endure it ; therefore marke what Chrift' faith, If any man 'ball adde unto thefe things, God /hall adde unto him the plagues that are written in thisbooke There- fore as we are a fpirituall common-wealth, fo let us obferve the Lawes of Chrift the fpirituall King of this Kingdome.
