[Sealed with black wax.] Deare Ned-Your father haueing some biusnes to send to Loun- don giues me an opertuenity to rwite to you, which I willingly doo, tho I rwit to you by the carrier last frieday. When your father went to Heariford, he was not sartaine of his gooing to Bambery; and if he did he meant to send on to let you knowe so much, that you might meet him on saterday at Bambery, wheare I hope by Gods mercy you will see your father ; and I prayGod you may both haue a comfortable meeting; and tho I cannot haue part in it, yet absent, my desres are with you, and I hope in good time the Lord will giue me the comfort of seeing you. This morning I reseued your letter by Hollingworth. My deare Ned, I blles the Lord that in mercy he has so . shuted you with a tutor, vpon horn your harts desire is so much seet ; you might haue had a good man, and not such a shutetabellness in him to your hart. I can not blame you to feare the looseing of him ; for when we fined any of like affections to vs we ought to prise them, for they are not to be had euery day. As soune as I hard that Mr Whately was sike, my thoughts weare that if Mr Wheately did dye, Bambery men would desire to haue Mr Pirkins. My poore prayers haue bine euer sense I hard it, and shall be, that the Lord would giued your tutor in the right way, most for his glory; and I hope the Lord will seettell him in the place wheare he now is, for he must as well looke how he leaufs his standing as vpon what ground he would accept of that place which is offred him : it is true his call to Bambery is right and just, but wheather it be as right he should leaufe that standeing in which he is, I knowe not.
