Lud- low haue made choise of Mr Goodwin to be burgesse, hauing refused my lord president his letters for Sr Robert Nepper, his son in law. Mr Harbert is chosen for Mountgomeryshire ; he hath a coure of horse giuen him and a thousand pound paid him to furnish him Your father went yesterday to Hereford : this day being the day for the choise of the knights, if they chuse your father I must be con- tented, though for my owne particular I haue no cause to be glad.
