1640.] LADY BRILLIANA BARLEY. 89 LXXII. For my deare sonne Mr Edward Harley, in Magdeline Hall, Oxford. Dear Ned-This night I reseued your letter by Jhon Coolborne. I am glad you went vp to Loundon with your father, and I hope this letter will meet you safely returned to Oxford. I acount it a great mercy that your father came so well to Loundon, the weather being so fowele, and that you indured so weet a day so well. I beceach the Lord to inabell you to indure all stormes of this life, being shell- tered vnder the sole protection of your gratious God. My deare Ned, I shall longe to heare from you againe; my thoughts are with you. I did thinke theas preparations weare for Scotland. I beceach the Lord to turne all the counsells of men to the aduantag of His chruch. I am now in beed, and so haue bine theas 5 days. Your brothers and sisters are well. My cosen Cornewell is goon to her mother, whoo is very sike. My deare Ned, the Lord blles you, and if it be His will, giue me a comfortabell seeing of you ; which I long for.
