92 LETTERS OF THE L1640. LXXV. For my deare sonne Mr. Edward Harley, in Magdeline Hall, Oxford. My deare Ned -I am not willing you should be longe without that which you stand in neede of, which makes me send this bearor to you, with 210 and 50 sh: for your tutors quartrege ; and haueing this oction to send to you, I send him a littell further to see your father, whom I long to see. Affter I had rwit to you by the car- rier, I reseued a letter from your father by the cooke, and on from you ; they weare both wellcome to me. I thanke you that you make me partake of what you heare; for your father has not time to rwit many particulars. The state of the parlament which I receued from your father I send you heare inclosed, and that which I had from you. Returne mine againe. I beleeue you haue the lord keepers speach, and the speakers, and thearefore I doo not send them to you. I pray God giue a happy sugsess to this parlement; if not we may feare wors effects then has bine yet. You and meself haue great resen to be ernest with our God for your father. I beleeue this weake will sheaw what they will doo, as all our expectations are vpon the parlament, so I desire all our prayers may be for it. My deare Ned, I much long to see you and I hope I shall shortly. I bane not recoured so much strentgh as to goo out of my chamber, and at this time I am in beed. Your brothers and sisters are well, and Edward Piner mends a pace. I thinke doctor Rwite a very good doctor. I like the cooke verywell. My deare Ned, the Lord blles you and make you grow in the strentgh of gras, and that you may dayly grow in the lone ofJesus Christ, that that lone may be all in all in you; that so loueing your God aboue all, you may vse the thinges heare below as if you vsed them not.
