Deare Ned -I haue defered the mesenger so longe that I bane hardly time to write. I did hope Looker would haue bine in time, and now I hope he will bringe me the aschurance of your health, and your fathers, when he comes, which I longe for. Your brother Tom is well, but your brother Roberd had his ague to-day. We heare of great matters that has bine doun at Loundoun this weake, but I beleeue nothinge tell I heare it from a shure hand. I am very sorry to heare that the sikenes is so much increesed. I beceech the Lord stay that judgment that it may not goo through the land ; and the Lord in mercy presarue you from all infections. And deare Ned, be not so boold in gooing into plases where the sikenes is. I haue some hope that the parlament will ajourne, that your father and you may come donne within this fortnight or 3 weakes at the farthrest, which I should be glad to be assured of.
