1641.] LADY BRILLIANA HARLEY. 135 CXXIII. For my deare sonne Mr Edward Harley. Deare Ned -I thanke you for puting me in minde of takeing the ayre; I beleeue it would doo me good, but as yet I haue not made triall of it; but I hope to doo, and if your father weare with me I should doo it with more cheerefullness. I thanke God I am now abell to site out of my beed, and finde meself indeferent well. Every weàke begeets nwe desires in mee, for now I very much desire to heare what is become of the biusness of the bischops, which I hope shall downe ; but I feare it will finde mighty opotion ; but the Lord can make hard things eassy. We must all acknowledg Gods greate mercy in the discouering of so great a plot against His poore peopell. I pray God we may still make God our refuge; that so He may wacthe oiler vs, and then we shall be safe. Deare Ned, rwit me word how the pasage was of Mr Harberds Pris his carage in the parlament, becaus theare is such various reports of it. I beleeue you father takes greate pains. I beceach the Lord strentghen him and direct him in all his ways, and give me a happy and comfortable meeting with your father and you. Mr Ballam I thinke is a very sillyman ; he has discouered himself what he is, in his sikness. I feare your brothers loose theare time very much. Your brother Robrert is very much growne, and I feare spends littell time in gaineing of knowledg, which trubells me much. I hope your father will thinke of some tours for them. I much wonder at Gorge Griffits, whoo has had so many tyes to you, that he so neglects what you would haue done. I hope your father will not let you goo to Linconsine as longe as he is in Loun- doun. Mr. Edwards, you will heare by my eosin Dauis, has by fors keept Bucknell, and cars not for the order of the parlament, which I thinke will be of very ill exampell, if it be not reproufed in him. I will and pleas God, send you some handchorchers as soune as I can.
