138 LETTERS OF THE [1641. CxxVI. For my deare sonne Mr. Edward Harley. Deare Ned-This weake I receued a letter from your father by a man of Kinton. I hope you wearewell, tho you did not wirite; and this weake I haue receued no letter by the carrier. Just as I write this, the carrier sent me your letter from Loudlow, which giues me great content ; for, deare Ned, you are a great comfort to me, and I hope the Lord will blles you for it. I much reioyce that your father is so well ; and I trust the Lord will still inabell him to vndergoo thos waighty affairs which lye vpon him. I feare, as you doo, that it will be Angst before your father will haue time to come downe. I hope you ride some time into Hide parke to take the ayre ; and for my sake be carefull of yourself. I thanke you for giuing me some hope of the bischops bill paseing this weake. I pray God effect that mighty worke. My cosen Wigmore was with me yesterday. He tells me your father was very well, but full of buisnes, and that he was 3 times to see him at his budging, but found him not at home. He tells me you are very much growne, which I am very glad to heare. When he toold me he neuer spake with your father at his budging, I thought what I had hard was not true. I thanke God I haue foundmeself much better of late then I haue bine this yeare and halfe, but not so well as I was before that time ; and I thinke if your father and you weare with me, I should, I thinke, be better. Mr Ballam is goon to Oxford, and I know not what to doo by your brothers. I thanke God, they and your sisters are very well. I haue sent your father by this carrier a box, in which is 6 pise, Mrs Osbersons pise. I hope he will like them, but I feare theare is too much spice in them.
