Deare Ned -I thanke you for your letter, which I receued the last weake by one of your fathers soulders, and for this weakes letter by the carrier ; it is mygreat comfort that your father andyou are well. I hope the same comfortabell hand of Prouidence will still keepe you in all safety; and deare Ned, be carefull of yourself that you doo not ouer beate your selfe, nor to goo into any infected places, and the Lord in mercy presarue you. I did hope to haue seene you and your father shortly, but now I heare theare is littell hope of the agurning of the parlament. I could wisch and desire, if it be so, that your father would aske leaue to come into the cuntry for a littell time. I thinke it would doo you and your father much good. I much reioyce that theare is hope of pasing the bill against bischops ; the Lord say Amen to it; we doo not desarue to see such a mercy ; but our God, I hope, will worke for His owne name sake. I hope the queue will stay her journy. I forgot to rwit you word that Mr Husbands is maried, and a most abundant loueing cuppell they say they are; and old Mrs Hubbins is goone to line with her daughter. Mr Gower is goen into Schescheere to his sister Mrs Bursell, whoo has beuried her husband. I thinke Mr Gwine no wis man, that would not haue bine glad, with all his heart, to haue giuen any condistions to haue maried his sonne into such a famely and to such a wife. Mr Ballam is returned from Oxford, but says he feares he shall not haue his health to teach scoule, thearefore he would only stay tell your father be prouided of a good one. Your brothers are very well at Clanuer, and I think they will learne better theare than at home ; but as your father pleases, so I shall be content.
