Mr. Scudamore that dwells hard by Heariford. -Mr. afterwards Sir John Scudamore, knight, eldest son of William Scudamore of Ballingham, co. Hereford, married Penelope sister of John, first Lord Scudamore. He wasa distinguished traveller in Italy and other parts, a royalist, and took up arms in the King's cause, andwas killed in a duel with Colonel David Hyde at Bristol, 12 May, 1645, and was there buried in the church of St. Werburgh.
