Mu= tuai Conceffionsand a yielding Spirit are neceffary to thefe propofed Alterations; and the Conformity and Unity of the People are the greateft perfeaion of a Church, and a main End intended in thefe Alterations. Now the Method youhave taken is not at all likely to produce fuch Conce/fions, or to incline Men to yield the moll indifferent Points, but rather to make them jealous and fufpiciousof you, and incenfe them againft you ; and is fo far from being ever likely to unite the People to the Church, that it is rather to be feared, it bath laid the Scheme of perpetual Divifion, and a continued Se., paration, even fuppofing fuchAlterations in the Church as would content you.
