If You could, upon force alterations, have complied, though other alterations in the contlitution would have been neceffary for the end mentioned ; then it is cer4 tainly lawful for You to comply, though the alterations which You moll with, be not made ; and therefore, it cannot be your duty to feparare becaufe thefe alp terations are not yet obtained.
