of CONFORMITY. is Baptizing their Children with God-Fa- thers and God-Mothers, and with the fgn of theGroff ; and in kneeling at the Commu- nion ; and you might have added joining with Forms of Prayer, and feveral other Scruples, which generally go together. Now they cannot Conform without fubmitting to thefe Impofitions, Therefore, they are obliged tofeparate, in order to enjoy there Ordinances, &c. This you do not advance in the name of thofe you call the Moderate Noncon- fermif s, or OccaTonal Communicants. For you acknowledge the Lawfulnefs of thefe things in themfelves, and have advifed your People, on fome occafons, to fubmit to them. Therefore I am the leis con- cerned about this Argument, becaufe it relates not to thofe Perfops for whole Conformity I am now chiefly pleading. But I do not deign wholly toneglea it. For the lalfslnef of the things them- felves, I recommend the People to you and do claim it of you, as a piece ofcom- mon jullice to the Eftabli/hedChurch, that you be always ready, and free to declare' your Minds, and to affure your People, that it is your Opinion that thefe things may lawfully be complied- with Ifyou txs.;c 71
