Your Occafional Communion is no better a demoniration of Your charity to the Church of England, than a declaration, fpoken, or written upon paper, that You hold the worfhip of it to be mate- rially lawful, and tolerable: nor hath it any better influence upon the publick face of Affairs, than fuch a verbal de- claration would have. Your feparation, accompanied with ir, bath as evil con- fequences, and as direful effeas , and as bad an influence upon Men's minds, and difpofitions , as it would have, were it without it. It fhews it felf as pernicious, and is much more unac- countable. But Your Confiant Commu- nion would be an undeniable demonftra- tion, that You love Peace and Concord; and hate the confequences, and effeas of a feparation. It would tend to the producing an Vniverfal Agreement ; and give a check to the Violence on all fides ; and probably , would have a molt happy influence upon the tempers of Men , and the face of this divided Church and Nation.
