But in truth, Conflant Conformity doth not imply in it either the Approbation, or Encouragement, of unnecefary Impofsti- ons. It implies in it only, as I obferved before, that you think fit to comply with the Vfe of them ; but for what Reafons, it doth not declare. And, befides, 'fup- pofing it did imply in it the Encourage- ment of urneceffary Impofitions upon Chri- .Ftians, which in themfelves are neither good, nor bad : On the other fide, Se- paration from this Church implies in it, as much, the Encouragement of fuch Principles, and PraEices, as make all V- pity, and Peace, impoffìble, and impra- icable. The Burthen is not fo heavy yet in this Church, as to deferve much Zeal, and Heat againf} it : But remem- ber, that if, on the one hand, you give occafion to the Impofition of more Cere- monies ; on the other hand, you give oc- cation to much Violence, and Vncharita- blenefs, whether you defign it, or not.
