588 Theseder efeElualicalling to Chrift. miferable Poole? this is your cafe, you have no grace, becaufe you have not fo much grace; you have no zeale, becaufe you have not fo hot zeale : you have no humiliation, becaufe not fo great humiliation : this is nothing but pride, and a world of pride: therefore marke what I fhall fay ; labour to bring thy foule to this paffe, and to this humble fubmiflion and fub- jec`ion to the truth ofGod, take it aswell a du- ty to receive comfort when God gives it, as to entertaine duty of love when God requires it : An[Werably know, it is a finne to refufe mercy whenGod offers it, and thouhaft title thereun- to : It is as well a finne, though not fomuch a fin; perfwade thy heartofthis, andbring thy foule to yeeld to this.
