Yet, becaufe the Expreffions of gi- ving the Spirit, of receiving, ofhaving the Spirit, of our being in the Spirit, and of his being, and dwelling, or abid- ing in us, are Phrafes of known and frequent ufe in Scripture, whether in relation to extraordinary Purpofes and Operations, peculiar to fame ; or to ordinary, common to all that are fin- cere in the Chriftian Church : Such Expreffions are therefore, byno means, to be rejected, or difiu'd ; but cauti- ouíly ufed, and underilood in a found and fober Senfe. We find no difficulty in apprehend- ing howGod is laid togive any thing divers, or difin& from himjelf ; as Houfes, Lands, Riches, &c.
