Chrift, as our Head, is the Repáfitory, or Seat ofall Divine Bleffings. Chrift is the jewel, theRiches, or the Sum of all things in the Covenant, as Life, Riihtcou! nefs, Pardon, Peace, &c. And he that receives this Jewel, receives ail things with him. From hence he is compared to a Clufter of Gam- cant. r.;4. phire. 4. ` Jefus Chrift (faith the fame Author) is ` the Covenant eminently, becaufe he is the ` chief Bleffing of the Covenant ; there is not fuch another Promife in all the Bundle of ` Promifes contained inthe Covenant ; if thou ;foh.4.14. ` know& the Gift of God, &c. Chrift is the Gift of God ; yet certainly our Author for- got that God the Father, and the Holy Ghoft are given as well as Chrift in the Co- venant; but when Chrift is given, God.- the Father and the Holy Spirit is given ; He that has the Son, has the Father alfo : All other things in the Covenant are (faith he) but as the Garr- ni1h of this `Jewel. 5. ` Chrift is the Covenant virtually, he is the tuft value ofall the Bargain ; he is of as ` much worth, as all that is promifed : If you would know the worth of the Covenant, con- fider the worth of Jefus Chrift.
