Chrifr, that they may be accepted of him in that Day: 'l'he Marriage of the Lamb is come, and his Bride batb made herfelf read)•, Rev. xix. 7· THE RESURRECTION-DAY THE SJ\INTS CORONATION-DAY. ·Hmceforth there is !did up for me a Crown of Righteoufnefs, which God the righteous . Judge jhall give unto me in that Day, &c. 2 'l'im. iv. 8. T HA'l' Day, ·that is, the Day of th~ RefurreCtion, or. Day of Chrifl:'s coming. Note, The Day of the RefurreCtwn vnll be the Samts Coronauon-day. ~ A R A L L E L ~ 1. CROWNS properly belong to Kings, Princes, and Potentates of the Earth, &c. Saints are Ktngs, fpiritual Kings, lie bath made us unto our God, Kings, &c: .Rev. v. IO. I!. Kings are wonderfully honored on their Coronation-day: So fhall the Saints in the Day of the Refurrection; the Angels of Heaven !hall honor them, Chrifl: himfclf will honor them; nay, they fhall be honored by the Father: If any JVfan ferve me, him .will my Fatbe~· honor, John xii. 26. Ill. On a Coronation-Day, fame look upon it as their proper work, to fet the Crown ·upon the Head of the Prince who is to be crowned therewith : So in the Day of the Refurrection, the Lord Jefus will fet, as it were, the Crown upon the Head of his Chofell: Be thou faithful unto Deatb, and I will give. thee a Crown of Life. 'I N F E R E N C E S. I. L ABOR to be fully efiablirhed in the Truth of the Refurrection; fee that no Man deceive you, it is a perilous Age, and to confirm doubting Chri!tians in this great Principle of the Chrifiian Religion, take a few Arguments. I. If the Dead rife not: Then Chrifi is not rifen from the Dead. But Chrifi is rifen ·from the Dead. Therefore the Dead fhall rife, 1 Cor. xv. 16, 20. z. That Doctrine that makes Preaching vain, is a falfe and .pernicious Doctrine : But fuch who deny the Refurreelion, make Preaching vain. Therefore a falfe and pernicious DoCtrine, 1 Cor. xv. 2, 14· 3· If the Dead rife not: Then thofe who are fallen afieep in Jefus, ,are perirhed. But thofe who are fallen aOeep in Chrifi, are llOt periilied. Therefore the Dead fhall rife, r Cor. xv. 18. 4- Jf the Dead rife not: Then the Godly are of all Men mofl: miferable. But tee Godly are not of all Men moll: miferable. Therefore the Dead Oull rife, 1 Cor. xv. 1 5, I 9· Objell. 'J'he Soul of a Child of God et Death.is happy and with Chrifl, .and jhall be for ever, whetbcr the Body rife or not ; and therefore they are not of all Men moft miferaUe, unlefs the Soul be mortal and die with the Bod)' as fome affirm. Anf.o< The Life of the Soul, as well.as of the Body, depends wholly upon Chrifi's Refurrection; and if Chrifl: be not rifen, we are yet in our Sins; and therefore this makes nothing either to prove Saints happy without a Refurrection, or for the Morta-· lity of the Soul. 5· Jf the Sairts of God in the·primitive Time, did believe and were well grounded in the Truth of the Refurre.Ction : Then the Dead fhall rife. But the Saints of the pri– mitive Time did fo believe, and were fo efl:ablifhed. .Ergo. See thefe Sc-riptures; 1 know he jhall rife again, in the Refurrellion at the !aft. Day: For as in Adam all die, evm Join Chrifl jhall all be .made alive : But every Man in his own Order, Chrift thefirft Fruits, and afterwards they that are Chrift's, at his coming: For the'l'rumpet jhall be founded, and the Deadjhall be raifed, &c. For if we believe that 'Jefusdied, .aud rofe again, evenfo thofe wbich are fallen ojleep in Jefus, will God bring with him, 'John xi. 24. 1 Cor. xv. 22, 23, and '52. I 'l'hejJ. iv. I4· And the Sea gave up the Dead which were in it, and Death and Hell delivered up the Dead that were in them, and they were judged every Man .according to tlmr Deeds, Rev. xx.
