That DoCtrine that gives the Scripture, Chrifr and his Apofrles the Lie, is a curfed and damnable DoCtrine: But thofe that deny the RefurreCl:ion of the pead, give ~he Scripture, Chrifr and Ius Apofrle the Lie: Ergo, The Scripture faith, that thofe that Oeep in the Dufr of the Earrh, lhall awake. If the fame numerical Body rife not, it will not be a Rei'urreCl:ion, but a new ·Creation ; therefore that which the Apofrle there Intends, IS the Manner of the Refur– .Teftion, i. e. how the Saints lhall be raifed. It is not the fame in rcfpect of Wcaknef• and Frailty; It is fawn a natural Body, a;zd }hall be raifed a fpiritua/ Body ; it is fown in Corruption, and }hall be raifed in Incorruption; it is fown in Weaknefs, and}hall be raifed i11 Power-Which Thing a Grain of Corn that is fown, teaches. Q};tefl. Why }hall I be fame Body of the Dead be raifed? Anfw. 1. Becaufe the fame Body of Chrift was raifed that fuff'ered. . 2. Becaufe the fame Body rhat fuff'ered for Chrift, fhall be glorified with Chrift. 3· Becaufe the fame Body that finned, fhall be punifhed; if noc the fame Body that ,finned, it might reflect upon the J ufttce and Goodnefs of God ro pumfh an Innocent Body. Be!ides, thofe Scriptures muft be fulfilled, which affert the Refurretlion of the Body. I N F E R E N C E & 1. pROM hence we may infer that here is a World to come. 11. That Death is not the !aft End of Man. IlL Prepare for the Refurretlion-day; think of it when thou lieft down, and rifeil: tlp in the Morning. Thy lying down to Oeep, is a Figure of thy lyi-ng down in rhe -Grave; and thy awaking out of Sleep in the Morning, is a Figure of the Refurrection. IV. Think of the Refurrection in the Spring, when thou feeft the Flowers of the :Earth bud forth, and fpring up; for that is a Figure alfo of the Refurretlion. Ta& JUDGMENT-DAY coMPARED TO AN ASSIZE.
