I7· viz. that he is poor, naked and blind, and therefore miferable. To remove thefe three, Verfe 18. are Medicines pro– pofed; (1.) Gold tried in Fire, (that is heavenly Treafure) which makes one divinely Rich. (2.) White Raiment, (that is, the Merits of Chrifl: applied by Faith) by which Naked– nefs being covered, a Man may be prcciouily adorned. (3.) Eye-falve to anoint the Eyes (that is, the faving Word of the Gofpel, by which a Man is illuminated) which reftores or gives fpiritual Sight. ./ln EAR, as well as the Eye, is tranilated to denote the Mi11d, and when referred to the Word ofGod, denotes a faithful./lttentioll and receiving of it, Pfal. xlix. 4· lxxviii. 1. and xlv.
