Manna was to be kept, and put in a golden Pot before the Lord, to remain in the Holieft for ever. XXV. Manna was loathed by thofe evil Murmurers on whom the Wrath of God fell, they efteemed it light Bread. XXVI. In the Day before the Sabbath, in the Night, Manna fell abundantly, that fo they might gather it on that Day, to provide Food for the Sabbath. TYPE. I. THE Manna was Food for the outward Man, for the Body only. II. Manna was eaten by many that were wicked, though of the national Church of the Jews. HI. Manna did corrupt and pu– trefy. lV. Manna was only found at fame certain Times, it melted away when the Sun rofe. V. Thofe that did eat of Manna in the Wildernefs are dead, they perilhed. PARALLEL. of this ·world. We have no other Food for our Souls, but are to live upon Chrift by Faith, fo long as we are in this howling 'vVildernefs. XVII. Thofe that would have Chrilt, mull: feek him in the Time God hath appointed. In the Day of the gloriom Reft or Sabbath, that remains to the People of God, there will be no Chrift, no Manna for Sinners. XVIII. We muft go out of the old Man, and fenfual Refts, and Love of this World, if we would participate of Chrift, 2 Cor. v. '7· XIX. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, or any other Inftitutions of Chrift, made CJfe of, or received in other Manner than Chrift hath or– dained and appointed, it ftinks in the Noftrils of God, and is abhorred by good Men. XX. Living by Faith, and our being fed by Ordinances, will ceafe when we come to Heaven. XXI. Chrift, and the Bread of Life, is only given to Believers. XXII. Thofe that will receive faving Benefit by Chrift, muft receive and eat him lpiritually by Faith. XXIII. Chrifl: was promifed feafonably, and came feafonably into the World, in the very nick of Time. In due 'fime Chrift died for the Ungodly. We had perilhed elfe for ever. XXIV. Chrift is glorified in Heaven, in his human Nature, at the Right-hand of God, and ~bides there for ever for the Faithful, Heb. lX. 12, 24. XXV. Jefus Chrift, in his Word, Ordinances, and Adminiftrations, is loathed by carnal and ungodly Men ; yea, and many account Chrift's good Word light Bread. XXVI. Chrifl: now before the lafl: Day, the Beginning of the true eternal Sabbath, is more fully revealed, that fo poor Saints might be pro– vided for, before the everlafting Reft, and End of Time comes, Rev. xiv. 6. D IS PAR IT Y. I. CHRIST is Food for the Soul. II. Chrift is not Food for, nor received by any;' but thofe who are truly godly, and lfraelites in– deed. He that eateth me, even he fhallli·ve by me: He that catetb my Flejh, dwelleth in me, and I i1t him, John vi. s6, 57· . Ill. Chrift, the true Manna, can never corrupt, but abideth for ever. IV. Chrift is ever the fame, and always to ba found by thofe that feek him aright, both in Prof– perity and Adverfity, to his Elect. v'. Thofe that eat of the fpritual Man11a lhall never die. He that bclieveth is pajfed from Death to Life, and jhal/ not come into Condemnation, John v. 24.
