The Sun is not only Light, but a Fountain of Light, the Eye and Soul of the World. !II. The Sun is a pure, bright; and fpot!efs Creature, the Beauty and Ornament of Heaven. His llrighrnefs is fuch, that a Man cannot look upon it, but it dazzles and blinds his Eyes ; unlefs look– ing downwards, and beholding it in Water, which, though thick and grofs, yet is a proper Medium. The Sun though he looks, as it were, with on open Face upon the Filth and naufeous Things on Earth, yet contrac'l:s from thence no Filthinefs or Pollution. Il. Jefus Chrifl: is Light in himfelf, refpeEting his Deiry, the Fountain and PerfeCtion of Light and Glory. The Sea is not fo full of \Vater, nor the Sun ofnatural Light, as Chrifl: is full ofGrace and Divine Light, Johlt i. I4. III. There is never a Day, bur ven to enlighten the World; he is Chri!l: is minilhing and giving forth Light and always fending forth his Beams of Goodnefs to the World, efpecially to his Saints: Light. Of his Fubzejs we all receive, and Grace for Grace, John i. I6. VI. The Sun is at the Lord's Commandment, in his riling and feting, ltanding Hill, or going back ; he cloth all by God's fpecial Order and Appoinrment. VII. The Sun fends forth his Light univerfally to all the World; it fhines upon the J u!t, and upon the Unjult; it is not confined to one Nation or People, or to this or that Man, bur it is free to all. VIII. The Sun is the Superin– tendent over t~e World, the chief Governor, as it were, and Head of InAucnces, called the ftueen of Heaven, Jer. vii. I8. IX. The Sun is of a marvellous Magnitude, called a great Light, Gen. i. J 6. and is affirmed by fome to be one Hundred Sixty and Six Times bigger than the Earth: VI.
