Thofe Sacrifices under the L aw were not fo excellent, there was not that Worth in them as is in the Sacrifices of the Gofpel. What was the Blood of Bulls, Bullocks, and Lambs ? Th<fc were Part of thofe legal Sacrifices. Chrill: offered up his own Body, pour.;d forth his precious Blood to take away {)llr Sins. 2. They were offered often to atone for Iniquity daily, every Year; But Chrii1: bath offered up himfclf in Sacrilice once for all, by one Offering he bath perfefled for ever them that are Janflijied, Heb. x. 14. that which they were always or continually a doing and yet could not accompliih, he did by one lingle Sacrifice and that for ever. XI. The Law required perfe<'l Righteoufnefs, and nothing le(< would be accepted, and fo confequently no Soul co~> ld thereby be delivered from Terror and Bondage; but the Gofpel (through Chrifl's perfeCt Righteoufnefs acted in his own Perfon for us) accepts of Sincerity in the Room and Stead of the perfec'l: kcepmg the whole Law. XII. Jn refpect of the Extent of the one and of the orher. The Law was only given to Ifrael, or unto the lineal Seed of Abraham and to the profelyte Stranger; he dealt his Laws and Statutes to Ijrael, he d1d nor fo to any N ation, f.'ic.
