Comfort. What would have become of us, if the Father himfelf had not found out fach a Remedy ? God had Power to. punifh. Sins in our own Perlon, he needed no Mediator. To fave Sinners, is not proprietas divine nature, but opus liberi confilii, it dependeth on God's Appointment ; and if Chrift had been a Mediator only by the Vote of the Creature, he might have been refufed. Exod. 32. 33. Wbofoever bath finned againfi me, him will I blot out of my Book: There is much in the Father's Alt. Now God bath given Chrift a Faculty to this purpofe; when we,go to God, we may offer a Mediator authorized by himfelf, thou haft fent thy bl'effed Son to be a Mediator for me. 2 Epift. John 9. He that abideth in the Dalïrine of Chrift, he bath the Father and the Son. You may urge it upon your Fears and Suggeftions.of Satan. God is not only the wronged Party,. but Supream Judg ; it is no matter what Satan faith,'or, your own Hearts fay, if the Lord bath laid, he will accept Sinners in Chrift.
