The meritorious Caufe of this Union is Chrift the Media- tor, by his Obedience, Satisfaaion and Merit ; otherwife the Father would not look upon us : and the Spirit is fent from the Father and the Son, to bring us to the Father by the Son. The Spirit worketh this Union, continueth it, and manifefts it. All the Graces of God are conveyed to us by the Spirit ; the Spirit teacheth, comforteth, feal- etb, fanaifieth; all is by the Holy Ghoft. And fo are all our Aas ofCommunion; we pray by the Spirit, ifwe love God, obey God, believe in God, it is by the Spirit, that worketh Faith, Love and Obedience. We can want nothing, that have Father, Son and Spirit ; whether we think of the Father in Heaven, the Son on the Crois, or feel theSpirit in our Hearts.
