I befeech you Brethren, do not reft in the notional underftanding of thefe Truths, but reduce all to Practice. Ifye know thefe Things, happy are ye if ye do them, John i 3. 17. But ifye know all Myfteries, and have not Love, t Cor. i 3. 1 2. it profiteth nothing. And to prefs you a little further ; you may obferve, that theMeat- Offering under the Gofpel, is larger than it was under the Law, as you will find if you compare Numb. 28. with Ezek 46. For in Numb. 28. 5. the Meat-Offering is but the tenth part of an Ephah ofFlower, and but the fourth part ofan Hin ofbeaten Oyl. But in Ezek 4.6.14. it is augment- ed, the Meat-Offering to a fixth part of an Ephab, and the third part of an Fein of 0,1. This fpeaks a greater degree of Fruitfulnefs and more ample Obedience under the Gofpel, then was of Old under the Law. That look as the Grace of God in Chrift abounds towards us under the Gofpel, fo fhould we abound in our Returns of thankful and fruit- ful Obedience, r Tim. r. t4. And the Grace of oar Lord was exceeding a- bundant with Faith and Love, which is in Chrift yefus. Can you not go a- long with the Apoftle in thofe Exprefïions ? Bath not God abounded towards you in Mercy and Free-Grace ? Have you not fometimes faid, . never fuch a Pattern ofMercy, never the like Riches of Free- Grace, if the Lord pardoned fuch Sins, and heal fuch Backflidings : Therefore be youabundant in the Work of the Lord, r Cor. 15. ult.
