They might be eaten by others betides the Priefts, and in other Placer; not in the holy Nace only Therefore could not be ty- pical, unlefs all the People and every Corner ofthe Land were Ty- pical. Anfly. Somight the Peace-Offerings in this Chapter, Lev. 7. i 5, i 6. The Offerer had a Share in them, and yet they were Ceremonial, and not Moral. Moreover, not only the Temple, and the Priefts there, but the whole Land of Canaan and the People of Ifrael, were a typi- cal Land, andatypical People ; ( as hath been formerly and (hall be further (hewed ) all the Fruits of the Land had a typical Holinefs ; the Firft Fruits being virtually the whole, they were a typical Dedication of the whole. Objell. The Scripture exprefly rejeas other Sacrifices and Offerings,. and doth not mention thefe. .Anfw. Yet thefe are included by a Parity of Reafon ; if the chief. be rejected ; much more the lefl'er arid inferior. Objetî. But Chriftians under the New Teftament, are bound to give part of their Subftance to the Lord, and to his Ufe . and Service : Therefore thefe are Moral. Anfw. I anfvver, it follows not ; for.this is a_Moral Duty to give part ofour Subftance to the Lord ; but yet the Heave - Offerings and. Wave-Offerings are ceafed, that is, the Ceremony is ceafed ; but the .Subftance or Thing fignified remains. Are they not commanded to lay their Hands upon the Sacrifice of Atonement, by way of Prayer and Confeffion ? Cap. i. q. But the formalvs ratio of this and other Offerings, doth confift chiefly in the Ceremonies ordained to be ufed about them, which is a great part of that which diftinguifh- eth one Offering from another, as you have formerly heard : There- fore, If Waving, and Heaving be not to be ufed under the Gofpeèi, asfacred and fignificant Ceremonies in the prefenting and dedicating of our Subftance to the Lord, the Wave, and the Heave-Offering are ceafed. But the Geftures of Waving and Heaving are not to be ufed, as facred and fignificant Ceremonies under the Gofpel; therefore the \Wave and Heave- Offering are ceafed. ZJfe i. Remember thofe great Gofpel- Myfteries which are the Scope of st?1 Sacrifices. Which (as you have heard ) are chiefly thefe Two,; Atonement and Thanfgivitag. t. .Atone
