Be not drunk with Wine whereinisExcefs,(as theHolyday-keepers ufe tobe through theJuftice of God, becaufe they obferve their own Inventions,) but be ye filled with the Spirit. Do not fit down with common Gifts, and common Graces, and commonWorkings, but get and labour after the faving Work of the Spirit : And be not content, nor fit down fatisfied with force little Beginnings of a fpecial faving Work, with faving Grace in Truthand inSincerity, in little rneafures and degrees : but labour after a great de- gree and meafure of the Spirit of Grace ; after ftrength and growth of Grace, as well as truth of Grace ; be ye filled with the Spirit, &c. 3. Behold and fee the Glory of God in the face of Jefus Chrift. This is the true Celebration of the Feaft of Tabernacles. Get a real fight of God, fo as tobehold his Glory as he is manifefled in the Flefh, and as God dwells in our Nature, fohn t. rq.. The Word was made Flefh, and dwelt amongst us, came and pitched his Tabernacle among us, and we be- held his Glory. We cannot fee God in himfelf, he dwells in Light and Glory inacceffible : As we cannot look upon the Sun in its own Bright- nefs ; but we may fee it in a Pail of Water,: So we may fee the infi- nite Majefty and Glory of God in the Flefh of Chrift. The Tabernacle of Jefus Chrift is a thing tobe beheld by Men and Angels, to fee more into the Glory of God ; get Acquaintance with the myflery of the Father and of Yefus Chrift, as the Apoftle fpeaks, Col. 2. 2, 3. That ye may be knit together in love and comforted, andunto all Riches of the full affnrance of Vnderflanding, to the acknowledgment of the Myflery of God, and of the Fattier, and of Chrift, in whom are hid all the Treafures of Wifdom and Knowledge. But beware left anyMan fpoil you throughPhilofophy and vain Deceit, after the Tradition of Men, after the Rudiments of the World, and not after Chrift : ver. 8. For in him,, ver. 9.;Dwelletb all the Fulnefs of the Godhead bodily. Labour therefore to feeGod in Jefus Chril L: We are not able to behold that infinite Majefty, but only through the Veil of the Flefh of Jefus Chrift, as fhining in his humane Nature.
