They were thefe that follow : r. IMS'RIMis, " ®Bjicimus, ponimus, & articulamur, i. e. We objets, Whitgift's put, and article to you, That you are a deacon, z4 arlirtea. or minifter, and prieft admitted ; declare by whom, and what time beth, May, " you were ordered ; and likewife, that your ordering was according to 1584. " the book, in that behalf by the law of this land provided. Et ob- " jicimus conjunllim de ornai &divifim de quolibet, i. e. And we objelt to you " the whole of this article taken together, and every branch of itfèparately. 2. Item, " Objicimus, ponimus, & articulamur, That you deem and " judge filch your ordering, admiffion, and calling into your miniftry, " to be lawful, and not repugnant to the word of God. Et objicimus " ut flora, i. e. And we object as before. 3. Item, Objicimus, ponimus, &c. That you have fworn, as well at " the time of your ordering as in/litution, duty and allegiance to the " queen's majefty, and canonical obedience to your ordinary and his foe- " S ceffors, and to the metropolitan and his fucceffors, or to fotne of them. That by a ftatute or aft of parliament " made in the tit year of the queen's majefly that now is, one virtuous " and godly book, entitled The book of Common Prayer and adminifira- " tion offacraments, &c. was authorized and eftablifhed to (land and " be, from and after the feaft of the nativity of St. .7ohn Bapt/l then " next enfuing, in full force and effet`.t, according to the ftatute, and fo " yet remaineth. That by the faid ftatute all minifters within her " majefty's dominions, ever Pnce the faid feaft, have been and are bound " to fay and ufe, a certain form of morning and evening prayer, called " in the ad mattina, even fong, celebration of the Lord's flipper, and " admini/lration of each of the facraments; and all other common and " open prayer, in filch order and form as is mentioned in the fame book, and none other, nor otherwife.
