Biiliop of London, Worcejler, Salijbury, Durham, Exeter, Lite/if. and Coventry, Dean of St. Paul's, On the fide of the prelbyterians were, Dr. Reynolds, Mr. Calamy, Dr. Spurjlow, Mr. Ajhe, Dr. Manton, Mr. Baxter, Dr. Wallis, As the chancellor read over the declaration, each party were"to alledge their exceptions, and the king to determine. The chief debates were on the high power of the bilhops, and the neceffity of re-ordination, Bi1hop Morley and doCtor Gunning fpoke moft on one fide ; and Mr. Gala– my and Baxter on the other. Upon hearing the whole, his majeily deli– vered his judgment as to what he thought proper lhould ftand in the de– claration; and appointed bilhop Morley and Henchman, doCtor Reyno!ds and Mr. Calamy to exprefs it in proper words ; and if they difagreed, the earl of Ang/ifea and lord Hollis to decide. At length the declaration, with fuch amendment'S as the king would :admit, was publilhed under the following title,
