To affirm the latter is groundlefs; .And it includs a fuppo · fal of the RelinquiHnnent of the Wifdom, Grace and Autho– rity of God in that Divine Revelation, for men to l::etake themfelves to none knows what. For that there was in this Promije the way expreifed which God in his Wifdom, and Grac~had provided for their Deliverance, we have proved before. To forfake this way, and to betake themfelves unto any other, whereofhe had made no mention or Revelation unto them, was to reject his Authority and Grace. As for thofewho are otherwife minded, it is incumbent on them direfrly to prove thefe three things. (1.) That there is another way, that there are other means for ~ the Jufiifica– tion and Salvation of !inners, than that revealed, declared and propofed in .that firfl: Promife .
