F l)..om the con!ideration ofthe things before inlified on, we may endeavour accorcFng unto our meafure, to take a view of, and humbly adore the Infinite Wifdom of God in the holy contrivance of this great Myftery ofGodlinefs, God manifeJl in the flejh. As it is a fpiritual Evangelical Myflery, it is an effetl: of Divine Wifdom, in the Redemption and Salvation of the Church, unto the eternal GloryofGod. And as it is agreat MyflefJ', fo it is the-Myfrery of the ma· nifoldT¥ifdom ofGod, Ephef. 3. 9, 1 o. that is,,of Infinite \Vif– dom working in great variety of atl:ings and operations, fuited unto, and expreilive of its own infinite fulnefs : For herein were all the ireafores of Tflifdom and Knowledg,e laid up, and laid put, Col. 2 , 5· An Argument this is, in fome parts whereof divers of the Antient Writers of the Church have laboured, fome occafionally, and fome with exprefs de· ftgn, I fl1all infifi only on thofe things which Scripture Light leads us direfrly unto.
