whereon it loth depend. 2 d Fled, it is God that juflifi"eth, it is Chrì fl that died, Rom. 8. 33, 34. and there is no condemnation unto them that are i, Chrifi Jefus, ver. i. For being juiified by Faith we have peace with God, chap. 5. i. And (6) we have that B1eff dnefs'here- on whereof in this life we are capable, Rom. 4. 5, 6. From all which it appears that our Juftification is at once compleat. And (7) it muff be fo or no man can be juftified in this world. For no time can be Aligned, nor meafure of Obe- dience be limited, whereon it may be fuppofed that any one comes to be Juffified before God who is not fb on his firft Believing. For the Scripture doth no where afiign any fuch time or meafure. And to fay that no man is compleatly jufli- fred in the fight of God in this life, is at once to overthrow all that is taught in the Scriptures concerning juftification, . and therewithall all. peace with God and comfort of Be- lievers. But a man acquitted upon his legal trial, is at once dzfcharged of all that the Law hath againft him. 2. Upon this compleat Juffification, Believers are obliged unto univerfal Obedience unto God. The Law is not abolifhed but effablifhed by Faith. It is neither abrogated nor difpenfed withal! by fuch an Interpretation as fhould take off its Obliga- tion in any thing that it requires, nor as to the degree and manner wherein it requires it. Nor is it poffible it fhould be fo. For it is nothing but the Rule of that Obedience which the nature of God and man make neceffary from the one to the other. And that is an Antinomianifm of the worft fort, and moil derogatory unto the Law of God, which affirms it to be díveiled of its power, to oblige unto perfe61 Obe- dience, fo as that what it is not fo, fhall (as it were in cje- ípight of the Law.) be accepted as if it were fo, unto the End for which the Law requires it, There is no medium, but that either the Law is utterly abolifhed, and fo there is no fin, for where there is no Law there is no Tranfgreffion 3 or it muff be allowed to require the fame Obedience that it Dd did
