We may not have fo abfolutely and with refpe&t unto merit, yet we have fo comparatively, and in refile& of' others, who cannot make the fame plea fór their Juffification. But all boafiing is exclu- ded. And it will not relieve to fay, that this perfonal Righ- teoufnefs, is of the free Grace and Gift of God unto forne, and not unto others ; for we muff plead it as our Duty, and not as Gods Grace. 5. Suppofe a pe.rfon freely Juffified by the Grace of God through Faith in the Blood of Chrift, without refpeët unto any Works, Obedience, or Righteoufnefs of his own : we do freely grant ; (z ) That God doth indifpenfably require per- final Obedience of him, which may be called his Evangelical .Righteoufnefs ; ( 2 ) That God doth approve of, and ac- cept in Chriff this Righteoufnefs fo performed ; ( 3 ) That hereby that Faith whereby weere juffified is evidenced, pro- ved, manifeffed, in the fight of God and men.
