.Final judgment, and its, &c. 2 2 3 as fuch he (hall be juftified, we grant that it is and muff be by his own perfonal fincere Obedience. And thefe things are fpoken not with a defign to con- tend with any, or to oppofe the opinions of any ; but only to remove from the principal queflion in hand, thole things which do not belong unto it. A very few words will alto free our enquiry from any concernment, in that which is called fentential jollification, at the day of judgment. For of what nature . foever it be,the perfon concerning whom that fentence is pronounced, was ( r) aClually and compleatly juffified before God in this World ; ( 2 ) made partaker of all the Benefits of that Ju- flification, even unto a bleßed Refurre&ion in Glory ; (it k railed in Glory; t Cor. 15. ) (3 ) The Souls of the molt will long before have enjoyed a bleffed Re fl. with God, abfo- lutely difcharged and acquitted from all their labours, and all their fins; There remains nothing but an aîfual Admiffion of the whole perfon into eternal Glory. Wherefore this Judg- ment can benomorebut declaratory unto the glory of God, and the everlafting Refrefhment of them that have believed., And without reducing of it unto a new :ufliftcation, as it is no where called in the Scripture ; the ends of that folemn Judgment, in the manifeftation of the Wifdom and Righ- teoufnefs of God, in appointing the way of Salvation by Chrift, as well as in giving of the Law ; the publick con- vi Lion of them, by whom the Law hath been tranfgreffed and the Gofpe!. defpifed ; the vindication of the Righteouf nefs, power and wifdom of God in the rule of the World by his providence, wherein for the moll part, his paths unto all in this life arein the deep, and his f otfleps are not known , the Glory and e Honour of Jefus Clhrift, triumphing over all his. Enemies , then fully made his footflool ; and the glorious exaltation of Grace in all-that do Believe, with ffindry other things of an alike tendency unto the ultimate . inanifeftation
