This Teftimony is the more to be confidered, becaufe as it is derived from the Law, Exod. 34.:7. foit is transferred into the Gofpel, and twice urged by the. Apofile unto they fame purpofè, Rom. .3.2o. Gal. 2. 16. The Perlon who infifts on this plea with God, profeffeth himfelf to be his :Servant. Enter not into Judgment with thy Servant ; that is, one that loved him, feared him, yielded all fincere Obedience. He was not an Hyporrite; not an un- believer,' not an unregenerate erf n, who had performed .no Works but fuch as were legal, fuch as the Law required, and fuch as were done in the firength of the Law only :;. fuch: works as all will acknowledge: to be excluded from our-Jufti. frcation 5 and which as many judge, are only thofe which are . fo excluded.
