And by what Law is the knowledge of fin, he exprefly declares, where he affirms, That he hadnot known Lufi, except the Law had Jaid, ThouJhalt not covet, Chap. 7.7. which is the Moral Law alone. That Law he defigns, whichflops the mouth of dll finners, and makes all theWorld obnoxious unto thejudgment of God. Chap.3.19. Which none can do but the Law written in the heart of men at their Creation, Chap. 2.14, 15. That Law which if a man do the works of it, shepa ll live in them 5 Gal. 3 .12. Rom. 10.5. and which brings all menunder theCurfe for fin, Gal. 3.10. ‘The Law that is efiabliped by Faith and not made void 5 Rom. 3 . 3 1 5 which the Ceremonial Law is not, nor the Covenant of Sinai. The Law whole Righteoufnefs is to befulfilled in us; Rom. 8. 4. And the instance which the Apoftle gives of Juftification without the Works of that Law which he intends, namely that of Abraham, was fome hundreds of years before the giving Of the Ceremonial Law. Neither yet do I fay that the Ceremonial Law and theWorks of it are excluded from the Intention of the Apoftle 5 For when that Law Was given, the Obferva- tion ofit was an efpecial Inftance ofthat Obediencewe owed unto the firft Table of the Decalogue $ and the exclufion of the Works thereoffrom our Juftification 5in as much as the performance of themWas part ofthat Moral Obedience which we owed unto God, is excluflveof all other works alio.
